Therapeutic Modalities
My clinical work is grounded in emotion- and relationship-based models such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). These approaches support clients in understanding their inner experiences, healing through connection, and creating meaningful change within themselves and their relationships.
I am also trained in and informed by additional evidence-based modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Single Session approaches. These models further allow me to tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs and goals.
Trainings & Certificates
If you’re looking for more detailed information about my education, certifications, and professional trainings, this page is a great place to start. I’ve included an overview of the approaches and qualifications that inform my work, so you can get a clearer sense of how I practice and what I bring to our sessions.
I use a range of evidence-based therapy approaches to support adults, parents, and caregivers in their healing journey in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and online across Ontario.
Trauma & Specialized Training
I have completed training in trauma and its intersections with addiction, bereavement, and neurodivergence. I also bring experience in working with individuals who have caused gender-based harm, always approaching this work with accountability, safety, and compassion in mind.
Crisis & Safety-Focused Training
In work involving risk, crisis, or heightened distress, I am trained in Mental Health First Aid, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), and Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR). These tools support safety, stabilization, and trauma-informed care.
Parenting & Family Support
When supporting families and caregivers, I draw from attachment- and brain-based parenting models, declarative language practices, and play therapy strategies. These approaches help guide connection, co-regulation, and understanding in ways that meet families where they are.
Ongoing Learning & Integration
I continue to deepen my practice through trauma-rooted and compassion-based frameworks, including Compassionate Inquiry and connection based experiences. These approaches inform how I show up with presence, curiosity, and respect for each person’s lived experience.
If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I welcome you to reach out to learn how these therapeutic approaches can support your growth.
